Severnside Consulting Ltd (SSC) was formed in 2010 to provide bespoke business travel management support and direction to mid and large size corporations. After a very successful initial 2 years, SSC now has a presence in Dubai to help assist its clients in the Middle East region.
Chris Pouney, founder, has over 20 years experience in the business travel industry. Through his unrivalled experience of being a service provider, regional and global travel manager and now consultant, Chris is able to use this experience to equip his clients with the tools they need to develop and maintain a robust, cost effective and industry leading travel program.
With the current economic downturn, many organisations have introduced travel bans in order to drastically reduce their travel spend. Chris says : 'Corporate travel bans are such blunt instruments, often stifling the development of organisations and de-motivating key employees. Corporations need to have complete visibility of their travel spend, giving them the ability to flex certain types of spend in line with the economic cycle'.
2011 has seen successful delivery of a series of projects as diverse as completing a major consolidation for a global construction company, travel optimisation for a European pharmaceutical organisation, procurement training for a global chemical company in Brazil and China and moderating a major travel industry conference.
Building on this success in 2012, Chris will be splitting his time between the UK and Dubai, to enable him to deliver a specialist service to his Middle East based clients.
